FLA Trip – run by KSA

NOTE: This information was presented in 2019 for 2020. It is not 100% up to date as of 4-20-2021. It will be by 4-26-2021

If you got a paper copy of the KSA information handed out by teh Coaches, the dates are incorrect.

Here is all the information on our team’s planned Florida trip for September 2021. For details on the trip and its itinerary. please see the KSA documents that were sent home and sent via HUDL. We have included an overview, some answers to common questions, and a list of fund raising events that boosters will sponsor. As things progress about the trip, when we get new information, as fund raising events happen, there will be updates to this page.

Highlights:

  • Trip leaves September 1, 2021, returns on September 5, 2021
  • Players will share a room, cost for the trips is going to be around $1800.00 per player. This includes everything: Flights, room, meals, shuttle services, park access, etc. The only thing kids may want to bring money for is any souvenirs they want to purchase while there. The final price will be released in March after registration of players is 100% complete. This allows us to finalize the itinerary and KSA to book our travel.
  • Boosters have arraigned fundraising opportunities for players to cover the entire cost of the trip. See the fundraising notes below.
  • Any funds raised will be transferred directly to your player’s KSA travel account upon close out of the event. In some cases it may take a few weeks for that to happen.
  • Direct cash donations can be handed in at any time, and boosters can also provide a direct Paypal link for any player who needs it. Example; Grandma wants to give $100.00 but doesn’t want to Snap Raise, or buy calendar dates.

Payment Schedule:

These date are tentative. An updated 2021 payment schedule will be posted on 4-23-2021.

  • May 15th payment (2022, 2023), Deposit due (2024)
  • June 15th payment (all players)
  • July 15th payment (all players)
  • August 15th final payment (all players)

FAQ:

Q: What is the deposit?

A: $300.00 per player/per tag-along

Q: I want to go can I, how much does it cost? Will I be with the players?

A: Yes you can go, the cost is the same as a players trip, see the Tag Along KSA document. Your deposit is due May 15th. You will be in the same hotel, but you are not chaperoning players, there is a separate itinerary for parents for that weekend.

Q: I am thinking of going and have another small child, what is that cost?

A: Please contact KSA (see below) for that information.

Q: Can my Snap Raise funds go to my deposit?

A: Sorry, due to timing the payments for Snap Raise will happen after the deposit deadline.

Q: Is my deposit refundable?

A: Yes, it is. If your player crushes fundraising, you will get back any leftover funds.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: Everyone has the option to accept or decline the Refund Guarantee Protection (RGP) option.  This is an additional $89 per person cost added to the overall total balance due.  The RGP would allow you to cancel for any reason (injury, disqualification, family emergency, etc) up to 72 hours prior to the arrival date. The RGP does NOT cover flights. Cancellation prior to 60 day window with RGP = $89 RGP + $50 flight cancellation fees.  The rest of the monies paid to date would be refunded. Cancellation within 60 days of the trip with RGP = $89 RGP + $350 Flight cost cancellation fees. The rest would be refunded.

If you do NOT accept the RGP, the cancellation policy is as follows: 

If you cancel your reservation, please be aware the following penalties are enforced by our suppliers and will affect any refunds:

  • Cancel up to 180 days prior to the trip, you forfeit your deposit
  • 179-150 days prior to travel: Deposit + 200 per person
  • 149-100 days prior to travel: Deposit + $300 per person
  • 99-60 days prior to travel: Deposit + $400 per person
  • 59-0 days prior to travel: full penalty of all deposits and payment

Q: For Colorado Crossroads Volleyball Tournament, how do I get my kid there?

A: Even if they are a licensed driver, we recommend you use the light rail station at Nine Mile to get to the Convention Center. There is a direct stop right at the venue.

Q: For Colorado Crossroads Volleyball Tournament, can kids get a ride from Smoky to Nine mile? Can they get out of class?

A: We are going to look at maybe having a shuttle for kids form Smoky to Nine Mile. Parents will still need to plan to get their kids at Nine Mile after they return to Nine Mile. Yes, if your player is not in grade jeopardy, he can get a dismissal pass from Coach Thenell/Coach Copp to work the event.

Q: How soon are any funds that you collect added to my KSA account?

A: All funds collected, from any fundraising efforts are typically sent via electronic payment to KSA, to be added to the players accounts on, or around the 10th of each month, in order to meet the 15th monthly payment. Our next sending date is May 10th, 2021.

Fundraising Opportunities.

Boosters have provided several fundraising opportunities with 3rd parties and will have additional booster led fundraisers through August 2021. We have some details for fundraisers below. Additional fundraisers are listed, so you’ll know what is scheduled. We will send out blasts with detailed notes as these fundraisers are kicked off.

We have created a donate now PayPal button, that you send to out of state friends and family, or supporters who may not want to buy a Super-bowl Square, or participate in other fund raisers that we have. Feel free to copy and paste the following into an email, text, or social media post:

My son is raising funds for his football team trip to Florida in September 2020. We have a PayPal donate link that you can use to donate any amount that you can. The donation is 100% tax deductible.

All you need to do is click: Donate Now, use you existing PayPal account, or click debit/credit card. Make sure you fill in the player name your donation is going to under Write a Note, and check out. The donation is 100% tax deductible.

SNAP Raise:

We will be launching a SNAP Raise last week in April and there will be complete details on that. Suffice to say the 2019 Snap Raise, totaled over $40,000 in donations. More details later. You can see LAST YEARS Snap Raise details here, they will be some minor changes for the 2021 Snap Raise.

Cross Roads:

Sign up for: Colorado Crossroads Volleyball Tournament workers needed. One of the largest volley ball regional tournaments happens in May at the Denver Convention Center. The Tournament needs set up, tear down, and tournament workers. Family members, fellow students can also provide help and get credit for your account. We will have a signup for this last week of April. We will have details of rides from Smoky to Nine Mile.

We will get a breakdown on the scheduled dates 1st week in May, a dedicated post on Cross Roads will go out. All the details will be provided at that time. We do know that there are 3 types of labor needed, and for tournament hours ONLY player are eligible to participate. We do know that all workers will get paid at $15/hr.

Set up: Players, family, friends can provide labor: (Dates, sign up, etc. in early May)

Tournament: Players only (Dates, sign up, etc. in early May)

Tear Down: Players, family, friends can provide labor.(Dates, sign up, etc. in early May)

Players may be eligible to get dismissal from school from Coach Thenell, if they are not in grade jeopardy.

Calendar Fundraiser. Players can sell the days for the month of May for their date value. For example; “Hey Aunt Judy what are your 3 favorite days of May?” She says, 3rd,12th and 20th ” The player would then sell Aunt Judy those 3 days for $3, $12, and $20, total $35. If you sell all the days of the month of May you can earn $348.00. Players will be put into teams with a team captain. Boosters will have prizes for teams to compete for and win.
